Westminster Befriend a Family | Westminster Community Information
A charity with the aim of breaking cycles of disadvantage and social exclusion, promoting family cohesion, well-being and achievement. Provides family support solutions for a wide range of issues by means of volunteer befriending, mentoring and advocacy, support and professionally led recreational activities.
Westminster Befriend A Family offers services for families living in Westminster with children aged 0 – 18 years.
They recruit, train and support volunteers to befriend individual families and visit them regularly in their homes. The volunteers can help families where a parent is disabled or has mental health problems, or a child has special needs.
For children who have caring responsibilities, befriending by a volunteer can provide regular time (usually visiting once a week) to go out and have fun and pursue learning activities, such as playing football, martial arts, swimming, going to a museum or library.
Provides weekly drop-in and advice services covering areas such as:
- Debt
